(For those who are interested: The CD storage boxes are from Target, last season. I wish they were still available as I'd like more. Keep your eye on Target though. They always come out with adorable storage options.)
I recently converted to a new system of acrylic stamp storage and thought I'd share it with anyone that is interested.
Some time ago, I read that Nichole, stamper extraordinaire, stores her stamps in CD jewel cases (read more on acrylic stamps here). And I've heard of this method before, but when I received an order from Paper Trey that included an empty CD jewel case for storage, I decided to give it a try.
I went to Target and purchased numerous packages of empty CD jewel cases (NOT the slim ones) and came home to begin my organization mission. First, you must remove the plastic piece that holds the actual CD and toss them.
You are then left with an empty CD jewel case. This is where you can store the acrylic stamps on both the left and right side of the interior portion of the case.
I then labeled the spine of the case and store them in CD storage boxes. Recently, I learned that exposing acrylic stamps to sunlight and artificial light can harm them over time. They do not last as long as rubber stamps, but storing them in a box and/or away from light exposure should give them a bit more longevity.
I'm pretty satisfied with the way my acrylic stamps are now stored. And I find that I use them more often as I can easily get my hands on them. Portability is important too. I can either transport the boxes or select a few CDs to take to a crop with me.
