Out with the old...
The packages from Easy Closets arrived today. And to give you a sample of what to expect if you were to place an order, see our foyer below:
Easy Closets does a wonderful job marking the contents of each box and dedicating one of the boxes to the instructions and hardware.
It's now time to remove the existing shelving. It took a screwdriver and the claw-end of a hammer to extract those nails from the wall.
The next task is to patch the holes, do some touch-up painting and mark where the studs are located.
In addition to using a stud finder, I intend to mark stud locations based on where screws held the previous shelf.
You can see where there is a nail-pop just below the holes....another strong piece of evidence where a stud is located. Where there is a nail-pop (in most cases), there is a stud.
So before I patch these holes, I will make a pencil mark here to indicate the location of a stud.
Tomorrow I will finish the walls and begin all the necessary steps to hang the closet organizer.
If I work real hard and break into a sweat, perhaps I'll burn a few calories too.
And if everything goes according to plan, this post will be continued tomorrow evening.
