...for a closet?
When my guy called me the other day and asked if I would like crown moulding in my new closet, I thought well gee, I never thought about it....but yes, I would! What a great idea! He didn't like the way the flat paint on the walls looked as it meets up with the high gloss ceiling paint and thought crown moulding would finish it off with a clean look.
Let me just say that we've never installed crown moulding before. I've purchased books and even gave my guy a mitre saw for Christmas last year. He finally took it out of the box today, studied the various books (Home Depot, Creative Homeowner Trim and Taunton's Trim Carpentry and Built-Ins) and gave it his best shot.
He spent the entire day today testing various cuts with the mitre saw and installing it in the closet with finishing nails and caulk. Tomorrow he will paint the moulding and then I will be able to resume with the installation of the closet organizer.
This was a great learning opportunity for both of us as we've always wanted to add crown moulding in other areas of our home.
We're now calling it a night and will deal with this mess again tomorrow. :)
